Overview

TRC Companies is seeking a qualified and experienced HR Manager to lead Human Resources in Puerto Rico. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives to support the overall business objectives while growing employee engagement. The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with relevant employment laws.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand organizational goals and implement corporate HR strategies to support them.
  • Advocate for the employees to increase engagement and career growth.
  • Provide recruitment process support to the Talent Director including candidate screening, interviews, and participating in local college and trade school events.
  • Foster effective communication between HR, the employees, and the business leaders.
  • Collaborate with HR Leaders (recruitment, compensation, benefits, payroll) to support Corporate HR solutions.
  • Lead the local onboarding and engagement programs for new employees.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee relations issues, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts.
  • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and relationship-building.
  • Support local managers during the performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance improvement plans and employee development.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in HR management.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
  • Experience in [specific industry or sector].

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

Compensation: Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
