Position Details

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain & International Security, the Regional Manager, Security & Loss Prevention, Supply Chain West Region is responsible for overseeing all components of the Security & Loss Prevention program in the Grainger US Supply Chain, West Region network to include loss prevention, workplace violence, investigations, incident management, physical security, and guard force management. This position will collaborate with representatives from Compliance, Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Internal Audit, and all Business Units to ensure the delivery of effective security and loss prevention services and solutions.

Compensation

This position is salaried and will pay between $101,300.00 - $168,900.00 and will include an annual cash bonus of 15%. The range provided is a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Other factors that are involved in offer decisions include and are not limited to a candidate experience, qualifications, geography, and internal equity.

You Will

  • Ensures that Company assets, employees and product are protected at multiple Supply Chains facilities in the Western and Central United States.
  • Manages all components of the Grainger physical security program congruent with strategy outlined by the Grainger SLP Physical Security Program leader to include lobby security and screening, yard security, perimeter security, access control, intrusion, and CCTV camera systems.
  • Manages multiple types of investigations including theft/fraud, white collar crime, compliance/ethics, workplace violence, T&E, employee misconduct and litigation support, end to end.
  • Composes investigative summaries related to significant investigations and prepare reports on behalf of Security and Loss Prevention management and/or Legal Counsel.
  • Monitors crime statistics, track security incidents, analyze trends and study patterns of product loss and thereby manage investigative efforts toward meaningful targets, justify disposition recommendations upon completion of investigations.
  • Manages the deployment and design of state-of-the art physical security technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard company assets, employees, and product at all facilities within the position's designated scope; includes management of the lobby screening program including magnetometers, OpenGate Firearms Detection technology, and bag checks.
  • Develops proactive marketing of "value added" resources and tools to internal customers. Develop and maintain relationships with Supply Chain facility leaders and cross functional partners.
  • Conducts Security & Loss Prevention assessments at Distribution Centers, Bulk Warehouses and associated facilities for compliance and adherence to Company Best Practices. Such evaluations will encompass physical security assessment of the facility, but also operations within and outside the facility, e.g., procedures for protecting product in transit or recommendations on controlling access points within properties.
  • Manages oversight of the workplace violence prevention and response program to include training, creation of safety action plans and response protocols.
  • Leads approximately 100 guards assigned to multiple facilities.
  • Manages security incident management and reporting.
  • Manages communications with local law enforcement agencies.
  • Performs physical facility security audits.
  • Oversees the compliance of all Security & Loss Prevention, policies, procedures, and training initiatives.

You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Security, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or similar professional certification.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in a Security/Loss Prevention environment.
  • Proven experience in dealing with Security & Loss Prevention issues in a distribution environment.
  • Certified in Wicklander/Zuwalski, John E. Reid and/or equivalent interviewing skills.
  • Must be able to travel 30% of the time; travel may occur on short notice.
  • Position domiciled at the Grainger Mira Loma Distribution Center in Mira Loma, California but may work virtually several days per week.
  • This position requires the individual to have an excellent working knowledge of supply chain loss prevention, physical security concepts, security systems, investigations, and crisis management.
  • Computer skills to include Windows-based software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software used by the Security & Loss Prevention Department.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to accurately articulate business issues and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Must also possess the core competencies to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal customers and employees.
  • Law enforcement and/or military background a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills a plus.
