Summary:

The Sr. Specialist Employee Relations is part of the Employee Relations Center of Excellence reporting to the leader of the ER COE. The Sr. Specialist Employee Relations will advise, guide, and coach Hershey's people leaders on employment matters including policy interpretation, HR procedures, employee conflicts, engaging employees, and performance management. This role will be expected to partner with Human Resources, the Legal department, and other stakeholders to ensure a fair and consistent approach to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Tier III investigations into alleged violations and make recommendations for remediation. While maintaining accurate and timely case files, documentation and follow up.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and counseling to HR and leadership to ensure the resolution of Tier III employment-related matters.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of operations and services.
  • Contribute to internal projects and workstreams as needed. Identify and recommend methods to resolve problems, update, and optimize existing processes, procedures/policies, and technologies.
  • Conduct other duties necessary to align with EEO regulations and other internal and external policies and directives.
  • Support cross functional continuous improvement initiatives to ensure that all services are effectively understood and delivered promptly.
  • Identify and constructively challenge policies and practices.
  • Provide support to ER COE Leader to help monitor, analyze, and review company operations to assess compliance with existing and proposed state/federal laws.
  • Support an inclusive work culture, balancing employee advocacy with stewardship of company goals and values.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 3-5 years progressive HR or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
    • Professional Certification in HR preferred.

Preferred Skills / Experience:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in employee and/or labor relations strategy.
  • Thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures, and knowledge of Federal and State regulations, including EEO laws and regulations.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to use data to create, develop and execute people strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly collaborative and influential with minimal direction.
  • Ability to motivate and influence senior leadership, stakeholders, and peer groups.
  • Project management skills.
