Who we are looking for:

ASCO is seeking a Program Administrator who is passionate about administering professional development-related programs such as leadership development and mentorship activities in line with ASCO's Strategic Plan and goals of the Education, Science and Professional Development department. Join us to make a difference in education programs for oncology professionals!

This position is hybrid with a primary location in Alexandria, VA. We anticipate the hire to be onsite approximately 1-2 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and monitor the implementation plans for ASCO's leadership development and mentorship initiatives, including developing application forms, timelines, project and communication plans, and other materials and projects as defined in the planning processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including ASCO volunteer members to administer impactful, high-quality activities, sessions, and resources.
  • Manage ASCO's leadership development and mentoring program tasks and projects, including application and review processes, volunteer and participant management developing and maintaining program communication plans and timelines, and support of current and past participants.
  • Partner with Associate Director to develop meeting agendas and program materials for virtual and in-person meetings and trainings.
  • Successfully lead internal project team meetings by guiding discussions, summarizing meeting outcomes, and keeping team members informed of action items and deadlines.
  • Monitor and collate data to communicate program outcomes, trends, gaps, and metrics.
  • Collaborate on department initiatives and special projects, as applicable

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4 years of programmatic or administrative support experience within a professional environment including customer service and data organization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and an openness to embracing and learning new technology
  • Experience planning and developing work plans and agendas, events, material preparation, engagement, and expenses

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Previous program support experience in non-profits, grants management and/or healthcare.

  • Strong planning, organization, and implementation skills with ability to deliver accurate, thorough, and high-quality work products with attention to detail
  • Works consistently in a collaborative, team-oriented manner and partners with others to achieve results
  • Ability to maintain, organize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, with ability to clearly convey and receive information
  • Open to receiving and taking action on feedback

ADA/Physical Requirements

Extended periods seated or standing at a desk.

High use of computer and other office technology equipment.

Travel

5-10 days/yr
