Starting Pay: $23.87

Schedule: 7am-3pm Monday-Friday

Duties include:

  1. Responsible for achieving assigned goals in the areas of maintenance, efficiency, safety, food quality, job performance, and cost control.
  2. Responsible for complying with GMP's, SOP's, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
  3. Effectively learns and develops skills related to ensuring facility equipment is operating on all assigned shifts at maximum efficiency with minimum downtime in order to maintain overall productivity.
  4. Builds own competence in the areas of manufacturing equipment, PLC and other electronic/mechanical functions in the facility.
  5. Develops technical skills in various capacities, specifically equipment operation, electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance (PM), supporting PLC and mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
  6. Learns how to perform PM's on all facility equipment and begins light to intermediate PM tasks based on skill advancement.
  7. Learns how to operate various types of equipment to include, but not limited to electrical meters for troubleshooting, PIT, and various personal hand tools. May also include the operation of any or all manufacturing equipment.
  8. Gains knowledge of all equipment operation and energy sources as related to safe lock out tag out.
  9. Learns how to analyze and take appropriate action on problems associated with manufacturing equipment.
  10. Learns how to troubleshoot electromechanical issues when they occur including, but not limited to, installation, diagnosis, calibration, maintenance/ repair of equipment and electronic devices.
  11. Learns how to inspect and operate material handling equipment: Stretch wrap machines, forklift, VNA, reach trucks & hand trucks and changes batteries in a safe manner.
  12. Covers breaks and lunches and other staffing needs as assigned by their manager/coordinator.
  13. Compliant with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing, SQF guidelines, and food safety on their assigned shift and reports concerns to their manager/coordinator.
  14. Works in a safe manner and reports safety concerns promptly to their manager/coordinator and takes corrective actions as necessary to ensure a safe environment.
  15. Ensures work areas are sanitary and strictly adheres to sanitation practices.
  16. Communicates effectively between shifts and other departments.
  17. Other duties as assigned by your manager/coordinator.

Essential Knowledge, Skills:

  1. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measure, to sufficiently handle job tasks.
  2. Able to engage in and further develop critical thinking skills related to mechanical and industrial troubleshooting and intervention.
  3. Understand and respond appropriately to basic employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
  4. Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need).
  5. Knowledge of company's mission, purpose, goals and your role in achieving each of them.
  6. Ability to operate facility equipment as required in assigned area.
  7. Satisfactorily complete all company training requirements.
  8. Ability to interpret company documents and literature and UPC/code information.
  9. Prefer to have prior training and education in industrial maintenance, industrial electrical, PLCs, Mechatronics and other similar industrial maintenance and electronic

Performance Standards:

  1. Responsible for reporting to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences with the assigned manager/coordinator prior to the occurrence.
  2. Responsible for reporting to work in a condition to work.
  3. Responsible for ensuring compliance with GMP dress code standards by wearing company issued uniform.
  4. Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct as contained in company policy, employment procedures and responsibilities as described in the company handbook.
  5. Maintain a safe work environment at all times and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct a safety concern.
  6. Responsible for completing all assigned apprenticeship classes and on the job activities.

Work Schedule:

  1. Requires morning, afternoon and overnight availability any day of the week based on assigned shift.
  2. Throughout the program will follow a rotating crew schedule that will be on all four crews by end of program.
  3. May be required to travel for training.

Environmental Concerns:

  1. Will be working in a traditional food manufacturing facility.
  2. May be subject to exposure to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products including allergens.
  3. May be subject to exposure to chemicals involved in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility.

Physical Job Requirements:

  1. Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility including but not limited to office, production, and warehouse environments. Including the outside perimeter of the building including the roof, catwalks, terrain, and confined spaces.
  2. Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.
  3. Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.
  4. Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
  5. Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.
