Acara Solutions is looking to hire a CNC Machinist for our manufacturing client in West Henrietta, NY.


Hours: 8-430 or 7-330 potential overtime as needed
Pay: $25-$35/hour
Contract (3 months) to hire opportunity


The role of the CNC Programmer/Machinist is to effectively produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) mills, manual grinder and lathe.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Interface with Engineering, Quality Control and Production on all mold and tooling requirements
  • Reviews 3D CAD design blueprints
  • Strong ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Perform and create mill set-ups.
  • Prepares geometric layout of designs using proper software.
  • Writes programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiency.
  • Plans stock & tooling for running/future work orders..
  • Proficient in Mastercam
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
    • Performing mold maintenance
    • Fabricate required tooling and fixtures
    • Perform duties with minimum supervision
    • Perform preventive maintenance activities
    • Perform minor engineering changes
    • Assist supervisor in training associates in the proper care and use of machines and tooling
    • Follow all prescribed internal tooling procedures
    • Fixture design
    • Maintains a clean work environment
    • Participate in team problem solving activities
    • Responsible for following all ISO procedures
    • Communicate effectively with vendors
Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Qualified Machinist with 2-5 years experience
  • Strong math and computer capability
  • Detail oriented and able to communicate effectively
  • Able to read 2-D and 3-D designs
  • General knowledge on how to operate 3-D software
  • 3 years MasterCam experience
  • Experience using Solidworks
