Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Electrical Designer we'll count on you to:
* Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project's development
* Establish client relations, and participate in the marketing, design and production meetings with regard to electrical systems
* Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
* Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect and other disciplines
* Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule
* Track the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust the work effort with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-upon schedule and budget
* Work with the Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management as needed
* Direct the activities of other electrical engineering professionals, and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed
* Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
* A minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
* Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and life safety systems
* Revit and AutoCAD experience. Must be able to open and print out a set of drawings, understand the limitations and abilities of the software and be able to make edits to drawing sets as required
* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications
* A minimum of 15 years of experience at an MEP or AE firm is preferred but not required

* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis

* Previous experience with federal, healthcare and data center projects is preferred

* Due to client contract requirements, candidates with US citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance are preferred

* Strong project management and communication skills. Experience leading a team, dealing with project managers, clients, and ensuring projects meet their deadlines and budgets

* Consistently producing high quality drawings and specifications and the ability to delegate work effectively

* Excellent communication and organizational skills

* Preference given to local candidates
