We are currently looking for a fulltime Regulatory Consultant to join our growing team!

In this key role you will provide technical expertise and guidance to our clients for a broad range of FDA and USDA consulting services in the food regulated industries. This position will create and maximize value for clients by utilizing scientific, technical, and regulatory expertise to provide clients with the support, guidance and advice needed to ensure compliance with applicable FDA and USDA regulations. We are looking for a professional consultant with experience and/or a thorough understanding of current regulations, directives, guidelines, and laws affecting manufacturers in the FDA and USDA regulated industries. In this position, you will work with and assist our clients in quality and compliance projects such as, developing and implementing quality systems, policies, and procedures, performing audits, preparing the client for inspections, remediation support related to regulatory actions or non-compliance, etc.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide a broad range of consulting services to clients in food related regulated industries.
  • Review of client quality systems for regulatory compliance
  • Develop and assist in the implementation of accurate and compliant policies and procedures.
  • Develop and provide training to client staff on a variety of topics.
  • Research and provide regulatory consultation on various client requests and inquiries.
  • Lead the planning and execution of complex projects.
  • Support ongoing client business and regulatory needs through the identification and development of actionable and billable projects and consulting support capabilities.
  • Independently manage project and service requests
  • Prepare clients for regulatory and/or 3rd party certification inspections and assist in the management of the on-site inspections and the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain client relationships and expand services and projects through the assessment of client needs.
  • Support both domestic and international clients on-site as requested. Travel will vary, 25-75%, depending on client needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The candidate must have prior FDA, USDA, or State regulatory work history, industry experience working closely with the FDA and USDA, or experience with a consulting firm in a senior consulting position.
  • A bachelor's degree (BA/BS; advanced degree preferred) in the health, biological, chemical or life sciences.
  • A minimum of 10 years of compliance and regulatory experience and a working knowledge of current US FDA and USDA regulations is required.
  • Prior consulting experience in these areas is also required.
  • Strong working compliance background in multiple industries regulated by FDA and USDA.
  • Process Authority
  • Lead Instructor certifications (FSMA, Better Process Control School, HACCP, Seafood HACCP)
  • Publications (Outreach Articles, Journals, Books or Book Chapters)
  • knowledgeable in Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) Schemes, such as SQF, BRC, and FSSC22000.
  • Ability to recognize and generate deliverables to the client in a consistent and quality-focused manner and integrate into broader EAS and client project work teams.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision on a daily basis.
  • Must be organized and manage multiple tasks of varying complexity and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify and understand the client's issues and compliance risks and develop effective and efficient solutions through clearly defined actions.
  • Possess excellent written, oral, and computer-based communication skills.
