Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain scalable and robust data architectures for Cyber Threat Intelligence initiatives under the CISA contract, ensuring that the architectures support both current and future business needs.
  • Develop comprehensive data strategies that encompass data processing, data security, data integration, and database management to ensure alignment with CISA's strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity experts, software developers, and project managers to define clear data requirements for threat intelligence analysis and operational support.
  • Lead the evaluation and integration of new data technologies and architectural approaches, including the selection of database solutions and the design of data flows.
  • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks and practices to maintain data integrity, compliance with data protection regulations, and facilitate data accessibility and quality across distributed systems.
  • Mentor and lead teams in best practices for data modeling, data warehousing, and data manipulation to ensure efficient data operations.
  • Advocate for the importance of data quality and data architecture principles across the organization, driving initiatives that enhance data-driven decision making.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in data architecture, particularly in environments dealing with complex data systems and high-security standards.
  • Professional certifications required: Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), TOGAF, or equivalent architectural framework certification.
  • Strong foundation in data architecture and database design, including experience with both SQL and NoSQL technologies, data lakes, and ETL processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of data modeling standards and tools (ER/Studio, Enterprise Architect), data integration, and data warehousing solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, Zachman Framework for Enterprise Architectures, and familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework as it relates to data security.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, specifically with their data services and security features.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills, capable of leading complex data architecture projects that meet both tactical and strategic requirements.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to advocate for data architecture initiatives and influence stakeholders across the organization.
  • In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection standards necessary to safeguard sensitive information in a highly regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in advanced data management technologies and software, with a keen ability to identify and leverage technology to solve complex data challenges.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within tight deadlines.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degree in a related field is a plus.

Clearance Requirement:

  • US Citizenship is required
  • Must have an active secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
