Job Description

TSC is looking for an experienced Receiving and Shipping Clerk that will serve as an imperative member of our program at our Raeford, North Carolina location. The ideal candidate will focus on direct support to the Logistics Management Team. This role will require accepting and processing incoming shipments, verifying quantities of goods received, stocking accountability, conducting parts pulls, preparing shipments, accurate documentation, and usage of automated inventory management software.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives, opens, and checks material against the packing lists and purchase orders to insure the receiving of correct items and quantities.
  • Assesses received materials, rejects damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with buyer/shipper to rectify damages and shortages applicable to the unique parts of older aircrafts use.
  • Reports issues or concerns to supervisor.
  • Ensure the security and accountability of materials and goods with inventory control. Ensuring all received materials are placed in the appropriate location.
  • Ensure materials are available to meet production schedules and/or products are shipped as per marketing schedules.
  • Establish and modifies operational methods and procedures.
  • Maintain documentation to reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities.
  • Perform accurate data entry tasks using other relevant software.
  • Prepare transportation movement documents and related forms for shipment and mode of travel.
  • Monitor freight, cargo, and materiel shipments to ensure accountability. Request, coordinate, and monitor movement schedules and programs.
  • Ensure transport capability is appropriate and meets mission requirements.
  • Operate automated data processing equipment to document movement information.
  • Respond to shipment inquiries, discrepancies, and routine transactions.
  • Responsible for maintaining, generating, and creating various reports to include but not limited to, physical inventory results, discrepancies, loss/damage/destruction, corrective actions, and other property related functions as outlined by TSC's Government Property manual, and the Government Property Manager.
  • Assist the Logistics Management Team in supporting shipments of multiple partner products around the globe.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement projects for Warehouse Operations and Supply Chain Logistics.
  • Responsible for shipment safety standards using correct handling methods and devices to ensure receipt at final destination without damage or discrepancies.
  • Work directly with Logistics Support Supervisor to develop and manage inventory.
  • Determine proper method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, rates, and key performance indicators.
  • Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks, as well as move materials within the warehouse.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent plus 5-6 years experience within a supply chain functioning area.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a top secret security job clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, and maximize productivity. The candidate must be capable of technical discussion, complex problem solving, and scrutinizing prior assumptions.
  • Microsoft Excel Certification
  • Ability to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Comfortable reaching with hands and arms and the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Must complete and maintain Hazmat/IATA/IMDG training and standards.
  • Able to successfully pass a valid OSHA approved forklift certification course.
  • Good Math skills, including accurate counting skills.
  • Ability to maintain neat and safe work environment (i.e. returning all material to appropriate shelf, being grounded when handling electrostatic sensitive material, etc.)
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills
  • Clean and valid North Carolina State driver's license
  • Courteous manner and neat appearance in dealing with outside vendors or customers.
  • Ability to read and interpret departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills; comfortable using computers on a daily basis and basic Microsoft office programs Outlook, Word, and Excel
