Responsibilities

MTSI is seeking to hire a Threat Engineer / Missile Design Subject Matter Expert to support NSWCDD H Department in Dahlgren, Virginia.

Position Overview:

  • Provide expertise with missile propulsion, guidance navigation and control (GNC), radio frequency (RF) and electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) seekers to help develop missile performance models for use in threat representation.
  • Provide expertise and experience with one or more flight regimes (sub-, super-, and hypersonic), different propulsion systems and guidance algorithms.
  • Develop missile performance models for use in threat representation.
  • Develop lookup tables for aerodynamic coefficients to support kinematic modeling.
  • Support the running of threat models and verifying performance data generated is a valid representation of the reference data from the intel community (IC).


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelors in engineering, scientific or technical discipline with 10 years of relevant experience

Required Skills:

  • Experience with design, development and implementation of technical products and systems related to Navy and Missile Defense Agency defensive systems.
  • Experience in recommending alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and procedures.
  • Experience in weapons system engineering, software development, operational weapons systems programs and/or flight dynamics.

Required Clearance:

Must have an Active Secret clearance; US Citizenship required.
