Your Opportunity:Marketing General Inc., a Taylor Corporation company, is seeking a Business Development Rep to join their team! MGI is a marketing agency that focuses on helping associations grow revenue. We are a narrowly focused organization with deep expertise in this area. This hunter-based BDR role requires a strategic thinker who can identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining a deep understanding of market trends and client needs.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Generate and develop new prospects through a disciplined, organized approach
  • Effectively assess the needs of prospects and develop solutions to meet those needs
  • Develop appropriate service, product, and technology solutions for targeted accounts
  • Conduct compelling and persuasive sales presentations to showcase MGI's products/services
  • Work within the MGI sales process and document progress in Salesforce and Pardot
  • Utilize the internal resources and expertise in proposals and presentations
  • Over time become an authority on membership marketing
  • Meet and exceed specific measurable goals; revenue targets, leading indicators (such as number of meetings, number of opportunities, close percentage, etc) and personal development goals
  • Be an enthusiastic and active participant in MGI's business development team
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture

You Must Have:

  • 5+ years experience selling consulting services, marketing services, or association-related services
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively present to a group - experience running/facilitating meetings is required
  • Experience working with a CRM system and proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong time management, project management, and analytical skills
  • Ability to effective manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
  • Superior level listening and discovery/diagnosis skills
  • The ability to proactively develop and maintain professional business relationships with internal resources, current clients, and prospective clients
  • Willingness to work in a goal-driven environment
  • Ability to travel outside of the region for client meetings and industry events (typically 3-5 trips per year)

  • Background in association/membership marketing
