Job Overview

The role of the Engineer IV in the US Coast Guard Implementation and Sustainment support team is to provide day-to-day program support to NIWC. The position requires an experienced RF Engineer with VHF propagation and terrestrial expertise to support projects. This position will work out of the Chesapeake, VA area. Occasional travel may be required.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Provide direct support to the IT Services team lead including the government sponsor and his/her managers on a daily basis.
  • Assist with the design and configuration of network infrastructures.
  • Promote and maintain communication between the project team and project sponsor, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain and upgrade existing Coast Guard systems.
  • Assist with the design and configuration of remote sensor infrastructures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • Must have a SECRET security clearance as a minimum at the time of employment.
  • Twelve (12) years of experience in Navy and/or Coast Guard C4ISR systems to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design, Definition, Development of Systems Specifications, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support of C4ISR requirements.
  • BS Degree in Engineering.
  • Be willing to travel up to 10%.
