Position Summary:
Sovah Health in Danville, VA. is seeking a Full Time Cardiovascular Technician to join our Night Shift (7p - 7a). The Cardiac Tech will:
* Under the supervision of an RN, perform telemetry monitoring.
* Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors and operate the patient-monitoring computer.
* Obtain patient information for the telemetry records, such as heart rhythm history.
* Measure, records and interprets heart rhythms and identifies abnormalities.
* Recognize changes in heart rhythms and relay the information to a nurse or physician.
* Identify significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervene appropriately.
* Test equipment for proper working order and report any equipment problems to supervisor.
