Job Description

Aveshka has opportunities for you to become part of our high-quality team that delivers innovative solutions to key federal clients. We are currently seeking a Section 508 IT Specialist to support Section 508 compliance across a multitude of product types. The customer is located within the National Capital Region (NCR), and is open to candidates to remote work.

The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge and understanding of Section 508 policies as they pertain to government controls, 508 checklists by ticket/product type, work across a cross-functional team in a remote environment, one or more 508-specific technology tools, and provide input and recommendations for how customer-specific operations can implement continuous improvement on the program.

Responsibilities

  • Administers Help Desk tickets and remediation recommendations for the backlog; performs compliance checklist by product type, identifies remediation requirements
  • Correlates ticket remediation time with type of ticket; document ticket remediation by ticket type
  • Assess, develop, and manage Help Desk Ticket system; make recommendations for improvements
  • Work with other team members to provide enhancements for continuous improvement
  • Identifies commonalities and trends in ticket type; aligning allocations to specific programs and issues to create improvements
  • Consolidates Deque product scan reports to identify remediation challenges, document findings
  • Communicate finding with stakeholders to address challenges and issues
  • Prepares reports for program team to escalate challenges and issues
  • Identifies and communicates impacts of challenges to program success, prepare risk documentation
  • Creates reporting documentation to the Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC)
  • Demonstrated experience working with various 508-specific tools available on the open market

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree; or 2 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
    • 6+ years of experience - Senior
    • 4 years of experience - Intermediate
    • 2 years of experience - Junior

Required Experience:

  • Ability to communicate with varying levels of stakeholders (internal and external) clearly and effectively
  • Ability to collaborate easily with others in a remote working environment
  • Experience with IT systems
  • Experience in defect management
  • Understanding of Agile processes
  • US citizenship

Travel Requirements:

  • 10% Travel may be required both inside and outside the Washington NCR

Required Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
