The Senior IT Developer will be a top level technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of applications systems analysis and programming. They will provide technical leadership on complex projects, may act as expert in business or functional area, formulate/define system scope and objectives, devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Must also prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Additional responsibilities include program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation. Must maintain full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming; may also be responsible for multiple phases of a project.
Main Responsibilities:
Provides technical vision and direction for given aspects of projects
Writes design briefs and technical documents for projects and contributes to project requests
Contributes to the development of project risk mitigation plans to ward off potential technical issues
Applies problem solving abilities to familiar and unfamiliar technical disciplines
Solves technical problems with possible conflicts using knowledge from prior experience and technical discipline
Learns and applies existing technical processes, methodologies, and skills that lead to new technical processes or systems
Provides appropriately timed task estimates by understanding and planning for technical/project dependencies
Improves existing applications or influences technical direction on a project, resulting in time or cost savings to Ecolab
Develops a network of people and resources
Participates in formal presentations to IS staff and business sponsors
May serve as technical lead for portions of large projects, or overall technical lead for small and medium projects
Key contributor to application, data, and technical architecture designs
Key departmental technical resource for a given technical discipline
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in technical area or equivalent
Increasing levels of technical leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
Financial or business experience helpful but not required
8 – 10 years of experience with .net (VB.net, C#.net and asp.net) and SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
