Paid F/T summer intern position for rising 2L law student
The Milwaukee office of the Advocate Aurora Legal Department is proud to offer “The Michael P. Kohler Legal Summer Internship,” named in honor of our service-oriented colleague who strongly valued mentoring and teaching, and recognized that beyond intellect, a good lawyer is pragmatic, personable, and doesn’t take him/herself too seriously.
This clerkship, awarded to 1 student, will afford him/her the opportunity to work side-by-side with Advocate Aurora’s in-house attorneys in the Milwaukee office and gain exposure to several potential practice areas over the course of the summer (June-August).
Eligible candidates will be analytical thinkers who have completed their 1L year and who maintain a competitive grade point average (minimum of 3.0), possess strong legal research and writing skills, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and are both team players and self-starters.
Responsibilities are assigned based on area of concentration.
Receives exposure to various aspects of health care from the view of the area of concentration.
Current enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school, in the process of obtaining a Juris Doctor degree. Minimum GPA of 3.0. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability in successfully completing tasks. Strong teamwork skills. Effective multitasking and prioritization skills. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel.Must demonstrate integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive attitude and enthusiasm.
