Summary -

This position is responsible for the writing and development of multiple format materials that focus on infant and toddler child care issues with a particular focus on early childhood system development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

• Develop materials that will highlight infant and toddler child care issues, trends, policies and practices including issues related to funding, program development and implementation, service delivery, collaboration and other related topics
• Develop materials in multiple formats including brochures, presentation kits, video formats, training curricula, manuals, web-based solutions, and fact sheets
• Deliver presentations of infant and toddler child care issues through workshops, conferences, audio-conferences and other venues
• Update, maintain and disseminate a fact sheet and descriptive information on the project’s website including project goals, activities, and contact information
• Respond to requests for information received from CCDF Child Care. Administrators, the Child Care Bureau, ACF Regional Offices, CCTAN partners, and other interested parties regarding the National Infant and Toddler Child Care Initiative and infant/toddler child care issues.

Skills and Experience -

• A minimum of ten years of experience in the early childhood field.
• Published author of articles and other materials on infant/toddler child care and/or other early childhood development issues; and
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent writing skills with a proven ability to publish articles, develop materials, and communicate infant/toddler child care and early childhood development issues
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development, with a specific focus on infants and toddlers
• Expertise in infant/toddler child care and early childhood system development;
• Strong knowledge of early childhood research and its application to infant and toddler child care
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team structure
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible
