About the Position

Position Description

UNOS is seeking a detail-oriented and strategically minded Budget Analyst to join our finance team. The Budget Analyst responsibilities include assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing financial models, preparing projections, and performing research and analysis as may be required by leadership. As a Budget Analyst, you will also be responsible for providing project teams with financial guidance and assisting with monthly close processes.

To be successful as a Budget Analyst, you should be able to perform a variety of financial activities including planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting. You should also have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and be able to present financial information and models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Escalates any financial issues to management.
  • Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
  • Reviewing and analyzing financial statements and reports.
  • Tracking KPIs and preparing financial reports.
  • Lead annual budget preparation.
  • Understanding key business drivers.
  • Assisting project teams with financial guidance.
  • Developing financial projections and building financial models.
  • Performing research and analysis as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations.
  • Collaborates with other departments during planning and analysis of financial data.
  • Assist with financial compliance and reporting requirements for any government contracts.

Minimum Requirements

2+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling required. 5+ years preferred.

Critical Skills

  • Experience working with large $80+ million budgets preferred.
  • Intermediate Excel (Macros, Pivots, Formulas, etc) highly desired.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
  • Working knowledge of financial strategies.
  • General knowledge of government contracting and FAR
  • Strong multitasking skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAGE Intacct, ERP's, Power BI, or related financial systems.

Education

4-year degree in Finance, Accounting or other related field of study, or equivalent level of professional work experience required.
