Tasks and Responsibilities
* Communicate with various operational groups on certain aspects of O&M results and projections.
* Prepare reports that include both summaries of financial results as well as useful supporting detail.
* Meet with operational groups on an ongoing basis to gather financial updates and review actuals. On an annual basis, work with operational groups to prepare all components of the calendar year budget.
* Collaborate with Accounting teams to clarify transactions, explain variances, and research issues.
* Understand data structures and charts of accounts, and ensure these are utilized properly.
* Develop relationships with members of Finance and with operational groups.
* Meet tight deadlines and work flexibly on ad hoc projects with little notice.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
* Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field preferred
* 3+ Years of experience in finance, accounting, or with budgeting/forecasting required
* Masters degree may be considered in place of 1 year of experience.
* Ability to understand and present financial data in ways that operational groups can utilize.
* Experience with presentations, including use of visuals and messaging of summaries and key points.
* Knowledge of financial statements including ability to trace transactions from journal entries to line items. Knowledge of GAAP preferred.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communicating with multiple levels of the organization and stakeholders with various levels of financial literacy.
* Expertise with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Oracle Planning & Budgeting helpful.
