We are currently recruiting for a Controller for a rapidly growing, private company in Richmond, Virginia.
Working under close supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will be part of a team that is responsible for the financial health of our company. You will be tasked with overseeing all financial reporting activities, oversight and training of accounting staff, budgeting, cashflow management, forecasting, managing risks, implementing financial policies and procedures, and improving financial processes.
The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, focused on results, and a problem solver. You should be proficient in QuickBooks and Excel with a strong emphasis on management accounting and cost allocation. Strong leaderships skills and a desire to mentor/support a team are also important.
Responsibilities:
- Directing financial planning and strategy
- Analyzing and reporting on financial performance
- Oversight of payroll and compliance functions
- Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures
Work with the CFO in preparing forecasts and comprehensive budgets
- Analyzing complex financial data
- Managing internal controls
- Develop key financial models
- Manage Company cash flows
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA and/or MBA preferred
- 5+ Years of relevant experience
- Comfort with financial forecasting
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Detail and results oriented.
- Experience in a Supervisory Role
- Strong analytical skills
- Broad knowledge of accounting principles
- Ability to take complex data and find the key metrics
- Desire to learn and grow in the role
- Experience managing a company's cash flow
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
