Loudoun County is seeking a strategic manager to oversee the divisions of Safety and Security within the Office of Emergency Management. The Safety and Security Program Administrator will be a problem-solver who is able to effectively manage urgent situations as well as operational and strategic planning.
The successful candidate will embody high ethical standards and will value professional development, coaching and mentoring personnel at all levels of the organization. The Program Administrator is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing all safety and security operations within the County government. This role involves strategic planning, coordination, managing resources including the assigned budget, and implementation of comprehensive safety measures to safeguard County facilities, employees, and visitors. The Program Administrator will lead a team of Safety and Security Specialists and ensure compliance with County policies/procedures and laws/regulations including, but not limited to, the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) standards. This position requires the successful candidate to possess the ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally with direct reports, department directors and staff, as well as executive leadership. A successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with governmental agencies and leadership, private sector, and members of the community. The Program Administrator will have a proven track record of valuing diversity and inclusion of staff, ideas, methods, etc., within their scope and ability to contribute to the enhancement of these values in our organization. This position will serve as a member of our leadership team, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery and responsiveness to County leadership and departments.
This position reports directly to the Office Director for Emergency Management and is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
The Program Administrator position requires a master's degree in security management, Occupational Safety, Criminal Justice, or a related field; four (4) years of related, progressively responsible work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position requires a valid driver's license and will undergo a criminal background and Division of Motor Vehicles record check.
Certification in relevant safety and security disciplines is a plus.
